Welcome to the Cherry Bear Bed & Breakfast in Mendota, Illinois from your hosts, Pete and Carmen. Cherry Bear was named in honor of our families - Pete's family name is Ceresa, and legend has it that when his great-grandparents landed on Ellis Island from Piedmont, Italy, one of the surname choices offered his family was Cherry; Carmen's family name was Bears.

Cherry Bear's guest rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, reminiscent of a bygone era. They offer a haven from the busy-ness of daily life. Help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea in the morning from our 24-hour coffee nook, and drink it in the dining room or the charming and intimate backyard while you enjoy the aroma of your delicious, locally-sourced breakfast as it is prepared.

We will do our utmost to ensure your stay at Cherry Bear Bed & Breakfast leaves beautiful memories. Whether you are looking to recharge and renew, have an adventure at Starved Rock State Park or fish at Lake Mendota, or simply visit with friends and relatives, we are happy to be your home away from home.

If you will arrive by Amtrak and prefer not to walk, let us know and we'll meet you at the station. If you will arrive by car, we offer off street parking and will soon be equipped for Level 2 EV charging.
